FAQ & Disclaimers

What MyGens includes, what it doesn't, and answers to the most common questions.

What's included

What does AI Support 24/7 mean?

AI Support 24/7 means you can ask questions about your generator at any time — alarms, startup failures, transfer switch behavior, strange noises, maintenance schedules, error codes, and general operation questions — and receive a clear, guided response.

It is not a live phone call. It is a conversational AI system trained on generator knowledge, available through the web on any device.

What is a Video Generator Check?

A Video Check is a live video call (up to 20 minutes) with a qualified technician. The technician performs a remote visual review of your generator, controller, ATS, main breaker, alarms, battery, and fuel level. At the end, you receive a recommended next step. It is a remote visual review — not an in-person inspection.

What is the Pre-Storm Check?

The Pre-Storm Check is a guided checklist walkthrough you complete with AI support before hurricane season. It covers fuel level, recent run test, oil and coolant, transfer switch functionality, alarms, and battery status. Annual plan subscribers can use their included Video Check as a live Pre-Storm Check with a technician.

What generators does MyGens support?

All residential standby generators including Generac, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, Cummins/Onan, Champion, and Honeywell. If your brand is not listed, contact us before subscribing.

Is the Annual plan's Video Check the same as the standalone $49 check?

Yes — the same service. You can use it at any time during your subscription year, including as a Pre-Storm Check. The check does not carry over to the following year.

What's not included — exclusions

Important: MyGens provides remote AI support and guided video consultations. MyGens does not dispatch technicians, perform on-site repairs, or replace any physical service. When a physical inspection or repair is required, MyGens will inform you clearly.
Does MyGens replace my generator service contract?

No. MyGens is not a maintenance service contract. It does not include oil changes, filter replacements, physical tune-ups, load bank testing, or on-site labor. A professional maintenance visit typically costs $171–$395 (average $273). MyGens helps you understand your generator's condition between those visits.

Can MyGens dispatch a technician to my home?

No. MyGens is a remote support platform. If your generator requires physical repair, we'll help you identify the likely cause and what to communicate to a local service provider.

Is MyGens available in emergencies or during a storm?

AI Support is available 24/7 including during storms. However, during an active emergency always prioritize your local emergency services and your generator provider's emergency line. MyGens is best used for preparation and non-emergency diagnostics.

Billing & plans

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees. Refunds are not issued for partial billing periods.

What happens after I pay?

After payment, you'll be redirected to a short form. We need your name and phone number to activate your account. If your plan includes a Video Check, we'll coordinate scheduling after you complete a brief generator profile.

Is payment secure?

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. MyGens does not store your credit card information.
